Bending Spoons, an Italian technology company that acquires and revamps software businesses, is seeking to raise as much as $1.62 billion in a U.S. initial public offering, according to two people familiar with the matter, in what would be one of the largest IPOs by a European company this year and a rare listing by a major software firm.
Italian app studio Bending Spoons, which has acquired businesses like Eventbrite, Vimeo, and WeTransfer in recent years, has filed to go public in the U.S. The company joins other names like SpaceX and Anthropic that are preparing to IPO this summer.
DOVER, Del.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Livid, a new ad-free video hosting platform for creators and small businesses, today announced $10 million in committed funding from Geige Vandentop and Dan Briggs, co-founders of StreamYard, the live-streaming platform they built from scratch before they sold it to Hopin for $250 million, and Bending Spoons eventually swallowed it. Alongside the funding, Livid launched L.O.V.E. (Livid One-click Video Exporter), a free migration tool that bulk-exports entire Vimeo.
Vimeo, the video-hosting platform, is laying off some of its global staff, according to a report from Business Insider. The move comes shortly after the company's acquisition by the Italian tech conglomerate Bending Spoons, which purchased it in an all-cash deal last year for $1.38 billion.
Vimeo is laying off staffers globally in a new round of cuts. The job cuts arrived a few months after tech holding company Bending Spoons bought Vimeo.
